Wireless network is not working on T42 thinkpad

#1 Post by makam.sreekanth » Tue Jun 12, 2007 9:08 pm

Hi folks,

I am not able to connect to the wireless network using my t42 thinkpad.
When I press Fn+F5, I am getting below error,
" IBM Wireless Adapters(802.11 or Bluthooth) are not instaled in this system"

I am total stuck... Please help me out .. Its very urgent....

Thanks in advance...

I moved this to the T4x conference.

Are you sure that you have a wireless card installed? If so, is it the factory card, or a different one that was added later?

My R40 has a different wireless card, than what originally came with it, so the F5 function doesn't work for me.

Actualy I didn't chnage in hardware config in my system. I guess For t42 the wireless card is default.
Now How to find whether I have a card or not?

You can remove the keyboard and palmrest to check for sure. Hardware Maintenance Manual on Lenovo's site has all the instructions and step by step diagrams you need.
