73P3288 ThinkPad CD-RW/DVD-ROM on T20??

I've just bought the above drive FRU number 92P6581 for my T20 model number 2647. The model number of the drive is UJDA755. How do I fit this drive to my Thinkpad? Is there an adapter I need to sleeve this drive into before slotting it to the T20? Does anyone know the part number for this? Thanks in advance for your help!

If you have the old cd drive from your T20 just remove the back panel where the electrical connector is, then remove the thin plastic slides on the side and put them all on the new drive. Then it should just slide right in.

The short answer is that you don't....

This is a drive for the T4x and R5x series of ThinkPads.

The longer answer is that you can use this adapter:

BUT at over 45 quid - it is rather "cost-prohibitive"!!

Perhaps better trying to return the drive you have and buying one specifically for the T20 (IIRC nothing above the Combo 2 will work in a T20)
