Hi,
I came across quite a few references to MobileMeter and how people use that software to report CPU frequencies. I also noticed that in some posts, people reported a CPU frequency as low as 278MHz and some who say that they have never seen the CPU go down that low and the lowest that they got was 600MHz.
Well, I downloaded both MobileMeter and Intel's Processor Frequency ID utility. When I ran both, with the AC power connected, MobileMeter reports 600MHz and Intels FreqID reports 1.8GHz, as it should be, based on the settings (adaptive) that I have put for the T42p laptop using the PM and Battery Mazimizer utility.
When I disconnect the AC and run it from the batteries, MobileMeter still reports 600MHz and Intel's FreqID reports a freq around 278MHz. The PM settings is set to run the CPU at a very slow speed.
I'm running both these utilities, side by side, on Windows Server 2003. My T42p configuration is a P M 745 1.8GHz, 1GB RAM, FireGL T2, 60GB 7200RPM HDD.
I can only conclude that MobileMeter is not accurately reporting the CPU frequency. Also, I'm not sure if MobileMeter is also reporting my Laptop's temperature's incorrectly. It shows 41degrees most of the time, when I have been running it in a non-AC environment for about 5 hours straight. I estimate that the surface temperature is atleast 50 degrees or higher.
Best regards,

Re: Mobile Meter does not accurately report the correct CPU
CPU frequency displayed by Mobile meter is incorrect, but temperature is correct. I was running Mobile meter in parallel with hmonitor (that uses different approach to get temp) and they both displayed the same temperature.elvisjohndowson wrote:Hi,
