T42 recovery cds backward compatible?

where i work we use IBM equipment, so i get to play around with T42 and X31 quite a bit, which is partly why im just about "there" and going to buy a second hand T40.

ive read that IBM dont really supply recovery cds but the T42 can make them.

i was thinking of going into work, getting a T42, make the recovery cds. will it then work on a T40?

ive read that IBM images are pretty much standardized but curious

Provided you perform a complete restore on the T40, you won't have any problems.

XP will automatically install all of the correct drivers for the T40 vs. the T42.

hey, I have T40/p and T42/p recovery cd, all of them I got fromIBM,I just called them ,and said I changed a new harddriver, and I needed a recovery cd, so they sent the t40 recoverv cd( they made a misktake,because my laptop is t42),then I called them again said:"you sent me wrong recovery cd, my laptop is T42,not t40.I need t42 recovery cd.". At first,they said is compatible,but I told them if I use that cd, I need update all the driver,but they still said is compatible, then I felt angry,and hang up the phone. After 3 mins,I got a phone from IBM,they told me they made a mistake,and new T42 recovery cd would ship to me ASAP... god~~ I think IBM service is good~~~~
