T42 - no problem

My laptop became so fast after clean-installing from a slipstreamed XP SP2 CD.
X61 7675-CTO Merom 2.0GHz 4GB RAM, 7K200 HDD

Actually, I am not satisfied, but in fairness it does not have to do with my ThinkPad.. I installed it on a someone's Tablet PC and it slowly but surely killed the machine (escalated from a non-working FireWire port to a Blue Screen of Death on boot).. :? It's like every time you restarted something else broke after I loaded it! After that, I decided not to put my ThinkPad's life on the line with it quite yet... Just my two cents :wink:

I had a blue screen of death at first too, but I was running some programs on start-up that were "iffy" at best. Once I took these off of the computer everything is smooth sailing. PM me if you want to know what programs I was talking about.

I've had 0 problems here. I'm perfectly content with SP2.

Hmmm... If you guys kept up with my "IT CAME IT CAME!" Thread, you would notice the slow death of my machine.

I installed SP2, and everything seemed to work fine. But if some people actually had computers die on them, I'm wondering if that's what killed mine...

Probably not, but strange nontheless.
