All T40s have the antennae installed.

Get the IBM/Atheros a/b/g card, you'll be happier.

is the official IBM a/b/g that much better than the ibm intel 2200bg? they seem to cost twice as much as the ibm 2200bg?

James,

I've just purchased a used T40. I have a wireless network at home via a Netgear WAP hooked into my Linksys router.

I've recently read some comments on the 'net that IBM's PCI wireless network cards have some compatibility issues with Netgear equipment.

Any thoughts or concerns here?

Thanks,

jes2

running a atheros (ibm) a/b/g card with a netgear dg834g router with WPA-PSK encryption, no problems at all.

Sounds good! I'm running a similar config with my current 600E w/Netgear PCMCIA card, and love it!

Thanks for the feedback,

im running a old tosh 7220 with a PCMCIA "g" card, it seems like it holds a better signal than the a/b/g card does. but my TP doesnt have cards sticking out the side :)
