changing battery threshold on a T40?

i know the T42 can do this via battery maximiser, is there an update to let an older T40 do this as well? im using the latest version from IBM's website.

It is not possible on a T40, some hardware on the motherboard is different, which wont allow dynamic updating of the controller.

If you could some how program the embedded controller with your user defined % then it might work, by default it is 96% in the embedded controller flash.
