T40p with lates BIOS and EC and Intel 2915ABG does not work

Ive done this combo many times before, but suddenly the computer says the miniPCI-card is not supported and to remove it. Was there a sertai series of T40s that wont work with later wlan-cards or what is it about?

ive uppgraded to latest BIOS 1RETDPWW (3.21) and also latest EC. I thought maybe i could flash the bios again from another copy i had but the flash utility says upgrade is not nessesary and refuses to let me.

ideas?

never mind. it wasnt until just now i noticed these cards are not IBM Intel cards.
