T41 partition problems with VISTA business

#1 Post by nbf23 » Mon Jul 02, 2007 1:47 pm

i am trying to partition a 100GB HD to setup a dual boot system on VISTA business and linux. i have tried using the "shrink" in disk management; however, it says only 57mb available, yet i have over 40GBs available. i have also tried acronis as well but unable to partition drive without wiping out VISTA install.

what am i missing? any help greatly appreciated.

I am not sure this would help or not but make sure you have set HDD settings from SATA to Compatibility mode in the Bios.

I think the t41 is PATA no SATA. you might need to set up two partitions install vista first then linux.
