Firmware support for 160Gb

#1 Post by unimorpheus » Fri Jul 06, 2007 9:19 am

Does anyone know if the Hitachi GST 160Gb drives are supported by the harddrive firmware update utility? I don't know if this drive was ever and IBM option for a T43 but since it is the biggest PATA drive available it would be nice to be able to use it without the 2010 error.

T60p 8741-C3U T7600 : 100Gb : 15.4 WSXGA+
T43p 2687-M8U P-M 760 : 100Gb : 15 IPS UXGA
Z60m 2531-MTU P-M 760 : 100Gb : 15.4 WSXGA+

No.
The largest drive supported by the routine is 100 GB. The supported drives are listed on the Lenovo suport page with the program link. Modifying the FW.PRO file won't help, as you would also need the file for the flash image for the drive.

The flasher only supports drives which IBM/Lenovo ever shipped with T40 series, which stops at 100 GB.
