Can I put DDR2 in my T42

#1 Post by Vasant56 » Fri Jul 06, 2007 11:43 am

Hi, There are some good deals for DDR2 going on.. will it work in my T42? If not, what kind of ram should I get? I currently only have a stick of 512 in there, and I want to throw in an extra gig, to boost my ram a little bit.

Thanks a lot!

Unfortunately DDR2 works with T43 and up. DDR will work fine in your T42.

yeah join the "i'm getting raped on memory prices" club. We all wished our T4x used DDR2 instead of DDR1 so we could have cheaper prices. $44 for a 1GB stick of DDR2 533mhz and close to $100 for a 1GB DDR333mhz one... Thanks...

Oh yeah, no lube please. LOL

You can use PC3200 as well. I have my original 1GB IBM stick, and a 1GB corsair XMS PC3200 stick. works like a charm :)

And they will rise as modules become more scarce.

BUY.com has one now for $69.00, I've been looking for a price drop for some time now and it finally got below $75.00...

note that this is a Crucial memory part and the price is after a $30.00 rebate... so really, the prices have not gone down at all.
