T43p and freezes

#1 Post by jimlenz » Sat Jul 07, 2007 8:12 pm

I have a t43p running vista ultijmate. Over the last month, I continue to have a problem with the computer freezing. I have to shut the system off and reboot.

I notice a click that appears to be from the hard drive, then the freeze. Any idea what the problem might be?

HDD failure perhaps. Run HDD Diagnostic test, if it's available option in the Bios.

Also, you can check your disk for any possible error by:

Right clicking on your hdd>tools>Check Now. Moreover, defrag. your disk as well.

Freezing could also be due to bad memory. Download this software from: http://www.memtest86.com/ and run a test on it too.

Hope any of above solves your problem.
