Strange order status delivery dates for T42

Since I've ordered my T42 direct from IBM every time I check the order status the delivery date changes. First it said delvery would be 11/15, then it dropped all the way to 10/29 and since then every day the delivery date has been delayed by a day where today it says 11/4. Is this normal?

I totally feel for you. It is "normal" as their status page is messed up. I talked to an IBM guy who said that they were aware of the issue and were intending to fix it soon.

I had the experience where I ordered September 29, then every day I went back it kept increasing. But, the original email I got said my order would ship the 14th of October. Sure enough it did. So, I would just look at the date given on the order confirm email they give you and assume that it will ship then.

So, my order for a 2378FVU shipped on the 14th as I said, and it arrived today, the 19th. If you live in the states, a 5 day or so delay between shipping from Hong Kong and getting to your door would be about what you should expect.

I hope this helps allay any worries you might have been having like I did. I ws wondering if they date would just keep increasing perpetually and was thinking I must be on "Candid Camera".

Yes I thought it was strange. The funny thing is that when I ordered it the delivery was stated as 2-4 weeks, about 8 days ago it dropped down to 2 weeks but if it really ships on 11/15 it will be exactly 4 weeks since I ordered it. Oh well I guess I have to have a little more patience.

Yes, the wait for mine about killed me. I was super-thrilled when I got mine and loaded up the high-capacity and slim-bay battery and it was still a resonable weight for carrying around. The wait will be worth it. Congrats on a great purchase and hope you get yours soon.
