Weird LCD problem. Fades to white with 2 black bars.

Anyone have an idea what might be broken? Im guessing it could be either the panel, inverter or cable. I'd just like to get an opinion before throwing parts at it. When i start up the machine, the screen just starts getting brighter and brighter until its completely white. there are also 2 black lines on the screen that are about an inch thick. any idea? thanks.

It isn't the inverter. See what an external monitor does.

It is probably the panel, but it might be the cable. There are also types of motherboard problems that only affect the LCD. Sorry for the vague answer. I have parts around, so I would first reseat the cable. (free to try) I would then try a different LCD assembly. If that fixed the problem, I would put the assembly into a stack in the corner. Some rainy day, I sit down and play with all the LCD assemblies and get as many full working units as I can by replacing bulbs, and swapping cables, hinges, bezels, etc.

If replacing the LCD assembly doesn't fix it, your MB is sick
