Anyone have experience with batteries off of ebay?
My battery is barely holding any charge these days, does anyone have any experience buying "new" batteries off of ebay?
I'm guess they are worn out batteries with the cells replaced... which I'd do myself, but it seems cheap enough to just buy them this way.
Any opinions? Any seller you'd recommend?

On eBay, I see genuine IBM batteries, and 3rd-party compatible units. I haven't seen any "re-celled" genuine batteries. Could you post a link to an auction of one?
Check out http://batteryrefill.com for their rebuild service. Seems like the best bet to me, though I haven't tried them personally.

Be sure to read this thread :

and other threads referencing eBay sellers xreplay and getgoingstores. They sell excellent, used, tested T2x and T30 batteries.
I just bought an excellent, used, tested T30 battery (to put in a T22) from eBay seller netsellsit for $15 plus $8 shipping. The battery has only 5 cycles on it and still charges to 98% of design capacity. Definitely a bargain.
Finding excellent, used, tested batteries for the T4x series could be much tougher.

This seller has a lot of inexpensive Thinkpad batteries, but I'm guessing they don't necessarily have low cycle counts. pcsurplusonline.com
I'm guessing this guy's batteries are the chincy Chinese batteries pointingmouse
Only problem with batteryrefill.com is that based on my FRU they list my battery 92P10877 as the Ultrabay Slim battery instead of 6-cell WTF? I'm going to call them tomorrow about that.

I bought a clone 9 cell battery from an e-bay seller whose name eludes me at the moment.
They shipped it to me and I received it 2 days after I paid.
The battery works great. With low LCD brightness, speedstep, no wifi / bluetooth, I am able to get a little under 4.5 hours of usage. If I crank the LCD up to level 3 it drops about 15 minutes of life. Running in full power mode, I get slightly under 3 hours of run time.
Keep in mind that I am usually running 2 hard disks, which does eat some battery life.
I would probably see better times from a genuine IBM battery, however for the $59 I paid (buy it now plus like $10 for shipping) I feel confident in the battery.
