Volume controls with Mini-Dock

So I got the mini-dock for my t42p, and I love it, works wonderfully except for the volume buttons on my TP don't work. I can mute using the mute button, and unmute by hitting one of the others, but I can not change the volume. It shows it on the display but the sound stays the same. Any ideas? Thanks,

Search this forum for a similar post in the last month. But it appears that the mini dock/port replicator audio out is a "line out" taken before the volume control.

At least the mute button works!
