New T42p, confused by IBM wlan adapters

#1 Post by _j_l_ » Wed Oct 20, 2004 4:22 pm

Hello all,

I've been a happy T30 owner for two years now. I have a T42p (2373HTG) in shipping now, it will have the Intel 802.11b wlan adapter that I'd like to upgrade to a/b/g.

From browsing the forum I have understood that people tend to prefer the IBM a/b/g card over the Intel b/g one, so i'm leaning towards IBM.

What puzzles me though is that my retailer can get me two different IBM a/b/g adapters. Accessories section accessed through finnish Ibm site lists three different Ibm adapters.

What's the difference between these three, and what should i get? Everyone in the forum just refer to the IBM 11a/b/g. What's the one that new T42p's IBM a/b/g adapters are shipped with?
