Finally the price of a 1GB PC2700 SODimm is going down. Fry's has one made by PNY on sale for $54.99. I just ordered one, now my T42P is finally to 2GB.

This 1GB RAM is from PNY Technology.

How good it is compared to Kingston or other good companies?

Kingston is 65 $, others are more expensive than this.

How is the performance of this RAM?

i would never trust PNY ever, i bought their flash memory for my digital camera, 2 of them, both 1g, and during a trip, both of them stopped working, and all my precious pictures were gone, never buy any 3rd party brands ever again.

Sorry to hear about that.

I have been using PNY's product for years. I have a couple of their 512MB USB flash drives, and while old they still perform flawlessly. I have PNY Verto video card that works great as well. My wife's box has 3GB of PNY RAM and it's been running stable for about 3 years.

Maybe you just got some bum cards?
