T43 - BSOD "ATIDVAG" Stuck in an infinite loop

i started getting those BSOD almost on daily basis now.
it happens when im scrolling on web pages. then i notice i cannot scroll. or the mouse disappears . 2-3 seconds after , bang BSOD.

i re installed the ATI driver . but nothing changed.

anyone experienced this ?

I believe it's the format (type) of the socket/processor (CPU/graphic/chipset) on the motherboard.

Yep, unfortunately that is what it is. My previous T40 started doing the same thing, and then would not boot at all without a BSOD. There is a workaround that will allow you to use a generic AGP device driver and still use your machine-at least it worked with mine and a few others.

I did a search here and found my workaround:

In device manager, look for an entry labeled similar to "AGP to CPU Interface". Get to the properties page, and change the driver to the standard Microsoft "PCI to PCI Interface" driver.

I used the machine like that for about 9 months until I replaced it. But to properly fix it you will need a new system board.
I lost count...

Well then-you are very lucky in this case! Go ahead and make the call to tech support so you can get a return box on the way to you so you can have it repaired.
