IBM microdrive bootable?

#1 Post by skanky » Mon Oct 25, 2004 5:50 pm

ive got a 1Gb microdrive CF card (FRU 09B4190) with a adapter which allows me to use it in the PCMCIA slot (FRU 00N8075).

is there any way of making this bootable so i can install ghost on it?
thanks.

i suppose that it would be bootable if the PCMCIA slot is bootable..

i never tried this with the microdrive i have..

i DO know that the windows CE(?) on my iPAQ wants a newer version than i have or a special driver..

i THINK i got my (ancient) PCMCIA hard drive to boot, one time, in my 760CD many years ago..

so i suppose the PC card slot should be able to be used for booting..

and i recall a fellow, a couple of years ago, talking about booting from a memory card in the PC card slot in a much more current thinkpad, on the old open forum..

I'm not sure you can boot from the PCMCIA slot. I was unable to do this with a PCMCIA CDRW (Microsolutions Backpack Bantam). Maybe a USB CF adapter would permit this (?)
