Can T42 sound a little bit louder?

I've risen volumn control to its max position, but still too 'gentle' it sounds.

Any thoughts?

If you have raised the volume using the buttons on the thinkpad itself, raised it through the volume icon in the toolbar, and raised it in the program you are using (i.e. media player, quicktime player etc.), then you've done all you can. The speakers are rated at only 1 watt. If you want better sound, buy some external speakers.

Yeah, there are three things in Windows XP that are the categories that control your volume, there is the master (labeled "Volume Control"), then there is typically the one labeled "Wave", and lastly there is the IBM volume control.
