Battery not communicating with computer

Hello,

My Thinkpad T22's orange battery indicator light flashes whether the machine is plugged in or not. I have the latest BIOS and Power Management drivers installed, but they do not seem to be helping.

When I check for my battery information the Battery Maximizer tells me that the remaining power is "unknown" and that there is an "error".

All of this started when I updated to the latest BIOS from IBM.com.

I have tried removing the battery and then reinstalling it, but am still stuck. Any help out there?

Try to downgrade the bios.

I thought about that and gave it a try. When I try to flash it I am told that the "system power management" is disabled. I went into the BIOS untility and all of the power management options are enabled.
