RediSafe advantages?
RediSafe advantages?
whats so special about using RediSafe over normal standby or hibernation?
ok googled for this:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... JUJBS.html
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... JUJBS.html
..so what makes that so different to what regular hibernate already does? there has to be some reason why this is..In RediSafe suspend mode, all tasks are stopped, and memory data and the status of the computer are stored on the hard disk drive
As I understand it (and might be very wrong) when you have enabled RediSafe and suspend your computer, the NB goes into suspend mode, but all the memory content is stored in the hibernation file (as normal hibernation). The advantage is, that when you loose power you don't lose all your work and can resume as from normal hibernation. And you still keep to advantages of suspend - fast startup.
IBM ThinkPad T42 2378-FVU: Pentium M 735 (1.7GHz), 768MB RAM, Radeon 9600 64MB, 14.1" SXGA+, Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG

Exactly. But it isn't supported with Windows XP and 2000, anyway. It's nothing more than a legacy option.puco wrote:As I understand it (and might be very wrong) when you have enabled RediSafe and suspend your computer, the NB goes into suspend mode, but all the memory content is stored in the hibernation file (as normal hibernation).
