Audio driver on T43 in Windows Vista Ultimate

#1 Post by EtherealFlash » Mon Aug 20, 2007 10:40 pm

So I just installed Windows Vista Ultimate, and so I need to find an audio driver the t43. None of the drivers on the IBM site support windows vista (which i further checked by trying to install them), and google didn't turn up anything helpful. Anyone know where I can find the proper driver for audio?

Had the same issue with my sound card when I put Vista on.

I think this is the one many led me to:

Hope it works, and if I still had the original file, Id have linked you direct.

I did install Vista on the T43p and did not need any drivers. Vista recognized the audio as Sound Max digital audio and installed the necessary drivers automatically.

I do believe that Vista includes the audio drivers necessary for the T43. Did you install the Lenovo Interface Driver? That is needed for many of the other drivers to function. Are you certain that your hardware volume buttons on the keyboard have the volume turned up?

How is your audio performance? I've always had some audio clipping problems when playing an mp3... it is about the only reason I went back to XP.
First Laptop: IBM ThinkPad iSeries 1411 (2611-411) (Underpowered from day one)
Next Laptop: HP Pavilion ze5300 (Poorly Cooled)
This laptop: IBM ThinkPad T43 (2686-NAU) (PERFECT.)
