someone asked about new T's shipping with SP2

Can't remember who it was or which topic it was under, but just wanted to let you know that I just opened up my T42 (2373QUI) and it did indeed come with SP2.

Intersting, my 2373-KXU did not, but I can see why they would apply SP2, it's been working great here for so many of us.

Very interesting! ("But stupid?") I wonder if Microsoft strong-armed IBM into this - usually IBM let the great unwashed beta test any microsoft patch for a while longer before installing it de novo.

Tend to agree with Keith here - in addition we were warned not to install SP2 by who? By IBM...
