Weird minimizing/maximizing problem

Hi all,
Recently I've descovered an odd issuse on my T40. Whenever I minimixe or maximixe a window (in XP pro SP2) the title bar scales down (or up) very very slowly, it takes about 2 seconds to minimize or maximize a window, also the bar is very 'flickery' when it goes up or down. This is not a graphics performance problem, because right after it happens I can pull up a session or C&C Generals or Star Wars kotor and play with the graphics performance being quite good, then exit the game and the minimize/maximize problem is still there! It happens on the internal LCD and my 19" viewsonic, and I've monitored the processor performance while doing it, and it does not change at all.

Rebooting fixes it, but soon after min/maxing a few windows, it returns! So, any thoughts on what might be going on, or how to fix it?

PS - Oooh! I just noiced this problem also comes up if I click the 'scale window' button.

Edit - However, if I drag around windows, there is no lag at all.
