Which tool to remove the hex studs?

#1 Post by Brad » Tue Sep 04, 2007 7:49 am

I am swapping motherboards on a T43p.

Which is the best tool to use to remove the two hex studs that attach at the parallel port?

Thanks

You can use a socket screwdriver for those hex studs. I think a 4 or 5 mm one would do it. You can find them in kits from Radio Shack like this one:

I use pliers with small tips.
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)

Thanks for your replies. There does not seem to be much room around the studs to fit any tool.

I ended up using pliers like PW suggested.

Thanks for all your replies.

Now if I can only figure out why I have two screws left and a strange rubber piece.
