Threads or instructs on upgrading T41 XGA screen?

#1 Post by silo » Thu Sep 06, 2007 1:33 am

I have the base T41 with XGA screen. Add a new 7200 RPM drive, a MB or memory and a/b/g wireless card, and am thinking of swapping out the screen if possible. But it would have to be fairly simply operation. I can open the box, but don't trust myself to do any delicate re-cabling or similar.

Are there threads or links giving step-by-step instructions for such a project?

Do you want to install a SXGA+ display or do you want to swap a XGA with a XGA? This is a little unclear!

If you refer to the thread Buying a 2nd hand T42p and see the post of Sun Jul 29, 2007 1:22 pm, and follow the links, I think this may give you an impression of how simple or complicated it is. See Parts information for your system and see the Hardware Maintenance Manual - there you will find specific information about parts (!) and how-to-do.

Kindly report back here how complicated it actually was - if you do it!

Best regards,

Johan
