T40 and Bluetooth Headset

#1 Post by jsteele » Mon Nov 01, 2004 12:48 pm

I bought a brand-X Bluetooth Headset hoping to use it with my T40. I installed the IBM Bluetooth software without a problem, enabled the Bluetooth Radio on the T40 and synched the T40 with the headset: the T40 knows its there and it reports 'DKH-03' Audio.

While the Bluetooth Device General tab reports "Hands Free Headset (Audio Device)" the Properties tab does not show any Services for this device.

I've found a number of entries in the Forum for Bluetooth headsets but they all just seem to 'peter-out' without any real resolution. Does anyone have any solid suggestions on how to get this device working with my T40, I'd like to use it to listen to audio without having the T40 speakers enabled and disturbing anyone else and also to experiment with VOIP phones.

Thanks

I have a Jabra BT250, and for some reason when I uncheck the MIC to umnute it, it just re-checks itself back into mute mode. Also, I uninstalled the Bluetooth software that came with my headset thinking it was that, and let MS install it's own Bluetooth thing, but now I cant even use it as a listening device. So now I am just going to wait until Thanksgiving weekend to fiddle around with the contraption

Good luck. I'v only had problems with Bluetooth, I am happy my mouse works (only when I don't install the mouse software). Even a Palm was a headache to connect...

But maybe I am just stupid.

I am having BT problems as well. The BT on my girlfriends PowerBook works great with many things: mouse, phone, headset. OS-X has great bluetooth utility.

I believe the problem is Win XP related.
