DVD/CDRW drawer opens spontaneously

It will happen after 30 minutes or 60 minutes but it happens frequently during the day.

I have also got some misreads on some DVDs purchased on the streets here in China, not always the highest quality. Is the drive packing it in??

Hey, you're in China? Walk down to Lenovo, knock on the door and ask them to fix it . Seriously, it sounds like the latching mechanism on the drive is giving you problems. Can you try another drive?
