any T4x with 14" SXGA+ IPS screens?

#1 Post by plukke » Wed Sep 19, 2007 11:43 am

Hi

I am currently orientating myself on the purchase of a second hand T4x notebook. I know what I would like best, but have found only one machine that might have the 14" SXGA+ IPS screen. That would be the 23739XG. Only thing is, on lenovo's website, no word on the IPS display, only SXGA+ active matrix TFT....

So, what's the story? Are there any 14" T4x models with a SXGA+ IPS FLEXVIEW display available?

Thanks

Johan

Unfortunately, only 15" T42's (and T43's for that sake) are available with Flexview/IPS displays, being either SXGA+ or UXGA. The 14.1" T42's may be SXGA+, but not Flexview/IPS - see e.g. the thread 14.1" SXGA+ or 15" Flexview? or what kind of LCD do t42/43 have? (is it S-IPS, MVA etc?) or T42/T43 Samsung, LG, and Hydis SXGA+ comparison (Pictures) or many other threads...

For further specifications and an easy comparison on various (but not all) T42's, see the ltwbook referenced to in this thread: Thinkpad T42p - with P-M 735 1.7GHz and Radeon 9600? - which will point you here: T4X specs.

Best regards,

Johan

there's probably only 1 14" T42 in the world with a UXGA screen - or was. That was from pianowizard but he's now selling that LCD because it's not up to his standards :)

Well he was - Guess you missed out on that but eitherway - you can probably buy an old dell and do what he did. It probably wasn't IPS either but.

Any 14" machine you see with IPS is a typo as none were made. My laptop also comes up as a 14" IPS+SXGA but it's defintiely not IPS!

The one I sold was actually an extra screen. My T42 still has a 14.1" UXGA screen, which is definitely not Flexview, but the high resolution works much better for me than SXGA+.
