Lotus Smartsuite & Recovery CDs

#1 Post by k3vb0t » Wed Nov 03, 2004 4:22 pm

I just called 1-800-690-3899 (thanks to Plinkerton for posting that specific number) and got my Lotus Smartsuite 'ordered' (for free). Should be here Monday.

I also called Tech Support to order my Recovery CDs, and as of a few months ago they do not send out the CDs for free unless something is wrong with your machine. I could order them for $45, but no thanks...

I'm actually thinking of just removing the recovery partition. What great use does it serve? Keep Windows XP safe in case something severely gets screwed?

In short, can I reinstall XP without the recovery partition? I haven't looked in my manual but I'm guessing they didn't give me an XP CD.

hi ,there!!
Do Not REMOVE the recovery partition from your drive because I did it before, after that I want to reintall XP, and I use the RECOVERY CD (T42,*CD), then the worst thing happened, all of my hard drive is formatted. so If you have have XP CD, you can remove it from your driver, otherwise you don't do it.

Does anyone know if you remove XP (not that I plan to, but say I want to run Linux instead or simply recover that space on the drive), if they will send the CDs out then for free? Or does something have to malfunction, e.g. the harddrive.
