New Bios 3.12

#1 Post by elmokiddo » Thu Nov 04, 2004 12:51 am

There is a new 3.12 Bios out, since updating to it I am not able to get any video playback, I updated my Video Drivers at the same time, so that may be the case, but according to some forums, it is a bios issue...so it got me thinking, anyways, if anyone else updates and has issues, it would be nice to know.

I am running a 2379-DXU (15" T42, R9600)

Thanks,
Elmokiddo

Edit: Turning off Overlays in Windows MP fixes the issue...here is some more reading about it as well, http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread. ... 183&page=3

I don't understand what the point of updating the BIOS is. If you look at the "what's new" section of the release notes, usually it just says stuff like "support for new R50p" or "support new onboard chip" (I think that's what the 3.12 was).

I'm pretty sure if there were any other updates, they would have listed it too.

n3il is probably right. They must have forgotten to list that new "feature" that makes your computer incapable of playing video. I think it's this new security thing, so your kids can't watch the porn you have stored on your TP. Cause I know you do... :P
