Memory upgrade question

Does 1GB PC5300 SODIMM memory work on my T40?

only PC2100 is working for T40 !!!

If you mean by a PC2-5300 module, then no, the T40 will not work with that. All PC2-xxxx memory modules are what's called DDR2 technology. The T40 uses the older DDR (aka DDR1) memories. Those DDR modules are available up to PC3200 speeds. Generally speaking, you can use a faster rated memory module in a slower system. The only spec you need to pay attention to is the CAS latency (CL). The T40 requires CL2.5. You can use a PC2700 CL2.5, or even a PC3200 CL2.5, in your T40. It won't run any faster than a PC2100 module but it might cost you less since the older memories sometimes fetch more money than newer ones (they are seen as "rarer").
