Hello guy,

From http://www.lenovo.com/support

Product: ThinkPad T42 2378-DUU

Original description: P M 1.5GHz, 256MB RAM, 40GB 5400rpm HDD, 14.1 XGA(1024x768) TFT LCD, 32MB ATI Radeon 7500, 24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Intel 802.11b/g wireless(MPCI), Modem(CDC), 1Gb Ethernet(LOM), UltraNav, Secure Chip, 6 cell Li-Ion battery, WinXP Pro

Under "Parts information", select "Service Parts", then "System service parts - ThinkPad T40, T40p, T41, T41p, T42, T42p"

Scroll down, on the picture click on "15" (System board assembly).

Your system board is the:

System board assembly for ATI M7-32 (Mobility Radeon 7500 32MB), Gigabit Ethernet with security chip for T42 series (93P4156)

You can also upgrade to a better system board with ATI M9-64 (Mobility Radeon 9000 64MB) or ATI M10-64 (Mobility 9600 64MB), BUT you will need to get the Fan assembly long M10 (13R2657) to cool both the cpu and the gpu.

Good luck 8)

As i said, 93P4156 is the system board CURRENTLY installed in your T42. This is the replace and go option (easiest one).

If you want to UPGRADE to a better system board, you can get either 93P4157 or 93P4158 (recommended). Also you need to get the fan assembly long 13R2657 that is required if you want to do this UPGRADE.
