Software app to identify LCD Display Part & Model Number

#1 Post by crashnburn » Fri Oct 12, 2007 1:34 am

I believe there is some generic software out there that one could run on ANY laptop of ANY brand that could identify the hardware model of the LCD being used.

What was it?

I need to do that for:

IBM T43
HP Pavilion n5495
Dell Inspiron 9300 and some more laptops..

Appreciate the help.

... an alternative might be System Information for Windows ("SIW" is freeware). This program does not, however, identify e.g. the original diplay hardware manufacturer by the fully correct name: In my T42p, the UXGA panel e.g. is made by the company IDTech, but SIW report it with "Manufacturer = IBM". This might be owing to IDTech being an OEM manufacturer? I guess other programs will report the same.

Maybe it was "Ultramon", or "Powerstrip" ?

I think these were the ones a lot of people on the NBF Dell forums used at the time.
