T42 15" screens which is flexview?

#1 Post by 66GTO » Sat Nov 06, 2004 11:19 am

How can you tell if a 15" screen is flexview? Or are they all flexview?
Thanks.

All T42 15" SXGA+ and T42p 15" UXGA models are FlexView. All T42 15" XGA models are not FlexView. All T42 and T42p 14.1" XGA and 14.1" SXGA+ models are not FlexView.

Sorry, but only the 15" UXGA displays are Flexview (IPS) displays.

Edit! Ignore the previous sentence, csv96 is right and I'm wrong!

I'm afraid not. Only the 15" UXGA displays are "FlexView display with wide viewing angle and high density using IPS technology".

Edit! Ignore the previous sentence, Sugo is right and I'm wrong!

In fact, now that I have thought a bit more about it - there were even A31s with 15 inch Flexview sxga+ screens.

One of which was the 2652-M3G.

FRU pn of the panel is 11P8206.

Yep, there were a bunch of A31s with the 15" SXGA+ Flexview display, one of the reasons we keep expecting to see one in the T series.

But even the A31s were confusing as there were 15" non-flexview: "15.0" (381mm) SXGA+ (1400x1050) TFT color / Active Matrix / 200:1 contrast" as well as 15" flexview: "15.0" (381mm) SXGA+ (1400x1050) TFT color / Active Matrix / 400:1 cont /FlexView display with wide viewing angle and high density (IPS technology)".

After a bit more homework on my part, he was right all along! I stand corrected and apologize for muddying the waters.
