"ESC" key not working

The ESC key on my keyboard stopped working a few days ago. I am assuming this is some kind of hardware issue. Should I try taking off the keyboard and cleaning it? If so, what should I use for this?

when ever in doubt always press ESC key























sorry, just had to say it... lol, have you been using it excusively or something?
