feedback for compatible oem baterry replacements

Well my sanyo battery (08k8193) only lasts about 1 hr now. There are several oem replacement options (dekcell, pro power, Axiom, etc). Some are cheaper than original IBM/LENOVO batteries. My question is if anyone had experience with such products, any positive/negative feedbac, comments, etc.

Local IBM/Lenovo dealer wants to charge me USD$ 120.00 for the original replacement . So must buy online.

Some third party batteries *do* work as well as original IBM batteries.

But.....

The risk is, if you have gotten a bad third party battery, you will sacrifice your thinkpad to battery explosion or something similar.

Those replacement batteries will do the job. Be sure to purchase from a powerseller who has already sold many of them, so the risk would be much lower.

I heard once a T43's battery got on fire in a US airport, and that was an original IBM battery. So you'll have the risk anyway. (Just, he'd probably get a new replacement from IBM but you wouldn't)

You can find quite a few on eBay for a good bargain. There is someone selling a 7200mah IBM battery for $80 ($69 + $11 ship).
