Hi,
During october I have experienced erratic behaviour of the wireless connection of my T40.
It may detect the available wireless networks, but when trying to connect, it waits "for the network to be ready" - and nothing happens.
I have tried with different networks, same result.
The strange thing is, at a system restore seems to fix the problem, but only temporarily. A week ago I restored to the 19th of october, and that fixed the problem, but as I tried the same restore today as the problem reoccurred, no succes.
But a renewed restore to 5th of october did fix the problem.
Any ideas to why this problem comes back?
Faulty updates from MS (I'm running XP with all current updates)?
Any suggestions for solving this issue will be most helpful, as I will shortly run out of even older restore-points!

If I am not mistaken, the WiFi card used in the T40, the Intel 2100 B was a problematic card. You should probably get yourself an Intel 2200 BG or one of the ThinkPad named cards (preferred by many). Be sure to get a genuine IBM part to avoid getting the 1805 error and no boot. See item #14 in the following parts list for a list of compatible cards.

Hi and thanks for a quick reply.
And yes, the card is a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 3B Mini PCI Adapter, which i suppose is the one you mention.
I tried to update the driver to the latest issue from Intel, but that did not make any difference.
I will look around for a replacement, but I do have the feeling that the fault is software based?
