2200BG Drivers: IBM's or Intel's best?

I was wonder if anyone has had experiences with using Intel's 2200BG drivers from intel.com rather than ibm.com's drivers. I'm currently on IBM's drivers but noticed Intels seemed fractionally more up-to-date.

If you search old posts, you will find that the IBM v8.1.0.25 driver has packet corruption issue.

Most OEMs have 8.1.0.26 as stable release.

8.1.0.28 from intel has been working flawlessly with xp WZC here.

i used intel's and it caused some major issues on mine, but then again i dunno cuz ibm's also caused some major issues. but after sending my unit for repair, and them replacing my mainboard i haven't had any problems since.

Great! I found the post at http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... corruption which mentions the problems.

I was wondering, does anyone know if there is anything 'special' about IBM's drivers, since even Intel recommends not to use OEM drivers etc?

Or is it just exactly the same as Intels with more extensive pre-release testing being done?

I guess this question's probably a bit much to ask but worth asking anyway!

IBM: corrupt drivers that failed to work since they don't like updating them when they're broken.
Intel Drivers: work great, even late

Has anyone looked? The 8.1.0.28 Driver is out from IBM for the Intel 2200 Card, and Access Connections has been updated to 3.52. The newest Access Connections is required for 8.1.0.28 - it works with the exisiting IBM 11 a/b/g driver (3.1.102.23). I have the latter combination running and it seems to be fine. ... JDHurst
