T42 battery meter always reads 99%

My battery meter always reads 99% on battery power. The meter never moves from 99% no matter how long I have been using it off of AC power. I'm using windows xp pro with service pack 2. Any ideas?

This seems to be normal. I have had this in T2x, T3x and now T40.
Usually after reboot it returns to 100%, if AC was plugged in.

Manually uninstall whatver version of Power Manager you have in place and install the current version from the Lenovo T42 support pages.

If you still have the problem after that, I'd try another battery if at all possible.
