iklear products: any good??

#1 Post by SimonCC » Thu Nov 11, 2004 8:09 am

does anyone use iklear products to clean their t42 laptop displays? im particularly keen on the dry cloth - the iklear micro cloth - as i do not trust sprays, i guess im just looking for an all round soft cloth to wipe my comp down with. Id appreciate some user comments of these products!

the spray is acutally fine, i dont spray it directly onto the display, but onto the cloth itself

I followed all the posts on this topic over time. I got concerned about using Windex (which I had done for eons before I got this T41). I tried denatured alcohol. I used cloths, not paper towels. Here is where I landed.

I take a well laundered, clean, soft towel or washcloth. I wet one corner in clean water. I gently wash the screen, then the keyboard, then I dry it with the dry section. Then I wash the outside and dry it. The keyboard stays particularly clean, and the screen is not only clean, it is streak free and doesn't pick up much dust. Water - the mother of all solvents.

but the wipes come in pairs... the wet on does leave some streaks (any wet cleaning will), but the dry one polishes the streaks out... i find the combined system works well, and since you have a fresh one each cleaning, you don't have to worry about a dirty cloth....
