upgrading wlan cards and access connections

#1 Post by Rose » Fri Nov 09, 2007 10:35 am

This problem ive been trying to find a solution for to long.

On some laptops Im upgrading wlan cards. i.e. from Intel 2100 to Intel 2200. Whenever I do this I cant get Access connections and Fn F5 powermanagement function to work with the Wlan card. It cant read its there or it just cant communicate with it. The only way ive solved it in the past is to totally reinstall the machine. If ive had one type wlan card already installed, I cant get (except for some combinations) a new type to work with access connections.

Ive tried to uninstall the drivers, AC and power management, but nothing helps. Does anyone have a nice solution to this problem?

ALWAYS uninstall Access Connections before changing or upgrading the drivers on the hardware it controls. Saves so many headaches later.

Once things get messed up, it is sometimes hard to fix. Here is the best thread I have found on repairing this. In particular, look at the posts by antera309.
