Hey guys,
I just popped a new HD into my 2nd HDD adapter, initialized it, and went to format it as FAT32 to be used for Ghost backups. For some reason I can't - it's not an option. Why? On my XP-powered Dell XPS, I have options for FAT32 and NTFS.
Fortunately, I had my bootable USB key handy, simply copied format.com over from a Win98SE startup disk, booted, formatted, and am happily ghosting the drive right now!

In theory, FAT32 volumes can be about 8 terabytes; however, the maximum FAT32 volume size that Windows XP Professional can format is 32 GB. Therefore, you must use NTFS to format volumes larger than 32 GB. However, Windows XP Professional can read and write to larger FAT32 volumes formatted by other operating systems.

"I see," said the blind man, as he picked up his hammer and saw.
For some reason I thought I needed to format the drive FAT32 but I used NTFS and all is well - I'm backed up (544mb/mn, 21 minutes total). I love Ghost!
Thanks!
