T42 no light in the wireless Lamp

#1 Post by olef » Wed Nov 14, 2007 4:19 pm

Have 2 identical T42's with the same problem.

There is no light in the Wireless Lamp placed in the buttom of the Screen :( .
The wireless connection workes fine.
Have tried with Intel B2100, Intel BG2200 and Broadcom mini-Pci cards.

Any suggestions :?:

I had the same problem with my T43, the wlan, caplocks, numlocks and hdd lamps didn't work. I called and sent it into support thinking that a cable was probably defective, they kindly changed the MB under warranty. :?

AFAIK, the cards have to be genuine IBM parts (with FRU numbers on them), and the wireless drivers have to come directly from IBM/Lenovo and not Intel or some other source. It is possible you also need the IBM/Lenovo ACPI Power Management driver as well.

About the light with T40 and intel:
2100b yes,
2200bg no.

2100b came from ibm.
560 -> 600E -> T21 -> T40 -> T60 -> T61
