Problems with Access IBM on my T42

I have a new T42 2373-3VU, and I cannot seem to update my computer. Whenever I try to update it using Acess IBM, the connection just times out and stalls at something like 66%. Has anyone else had this problem before? I'm not really sure what to do.

This has been discussed before. If you leave it alone for a long time then it manages to finish, sometimes! Never timed it but ... half hour or more? Going to the IBM website & downloading and installing from there seems, actually, safer & more reliable. Some of the updates from IBM Update Connections don't work at all yet (known problems).

let it run for 2 hours today, still stuck at 66%

I should have also suggested: go to the IBM update site & make sure you have the latest version of Access IBM. Pay attention to requirements for it (updating the bios, embedded controller, whatever). All in, all (as another thread discussed), it's probably safer just to do updates by hand (until such point as AI works well).
