Help for T42 connecting to DELL 2407 via DVI-D

#1 Post by mfcboy » Wed Nov 21, 2007 6:10 pm

I just got used replicator II from ebay and 6 feet crappy DVI-D male to male cable for my T42 and DELL2407 monitor.
but unfortunately, no matter what I tried to setup(in BIOS, I tried VGA+DVI, VGA+DVI+LCD...), eventually I can only make 2407 display well via VGA port(of course I didn't forget to switch the signal source input on LCD's panel). When select "DVI-D" through lcd's panel(indicator "2"), the monitor would stay black then enter into power saving mode.
In T42 desktop setting, I ticked "extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" option with Omega video driver.

please help with this, thanks in advance.

Ok,finally I figured it out myself. It seems pretty easy, in presentation director, New a profile and set up, done. Now I can use Fn+F7 to switch any display mode I preset there. The rest of issue is, I am gonna replace the present crappy DVI-D male to male cable to monster cable soon since I found the display result looks worse than VGA mode(I feel dizzy when watching those small characters).

Don't waste your money...especially for a digital source, there's really no point in super high quality cables. Monster cables are so overhyped.
