t42 ultrabay slim slots and hd replacement

#1 Post by draculr » Sat Nov 13, 2004 10:14 pm

Hi, I am looking to buy a T42 (itll be my first thinkpad).

I was wondering how many ultrabay slim slots there are? More specifically is it possible to run the t42 with the cd drive AND a second battery? Or can you only have one at a time?

Also, is the harddrive easy to replace? Would replacing the harddrive void the warranty? I want to replace it with a bigger, faster drive soon after I get it.

lol

ok, there is the option under 'Storage/Removable Storage' for 'ThinkPad 80GB High Speed Hard Drive', is that a 7200rpm drive that replaces the 40gb drive in the system already? Or is it an external drive?

YES!

But don´t use apps that swap on the 2nd hd

(now i have three 2nd-hds and these adapters are much smaller than 3 external usb-cases)
