15" display changing with SXGA+

Exchanging display a 15"1024x1078 with a 15" 1400x1050, I can only change the display or must change all (inverter, etc.)?

Normally you need to exchange both the LCD and the video cable, but I am not sure if there is a 15" SXGA+ LCD, just a UXGA display (1600x1200) this is what I have on a T42P and my son's R50P.

The Hardware Maintainance Manuals show different FRU numbers for the cable and inverters are required for 15" XGA and SXGA+ screens.
Unless someone, who's done the same exchange, says otherwise you will need the recommended FRUs. (I didn't check screen cover etc.)

You need to change all 3 parts. It is easiest if you can find an assembly. I have changed lots of panels and getting the antenna wires and the hinges seated right and then getting the bezel right on is still a pain.

Then I will acquire a ThinkPad already with display 15"1400x1050. Obviously wanting to put a display flexview enough to only change the panel, true?

The "generic" display flexview 15" is compatible with R51?

R51 does NOT use the same panel.
